Collaboration is on the increase in the bioscience sector in Wales.  Welsh bioscience organisations are increasingly establishing collaborations with global industry players, such as the Wales Gene Park's work with GlaxoSmithKline in the field of Alzheimer's desease.

Wales is home to 6 accredited centres of excellence for bioscience, each recognised for their world-class facilities and exceptional track record of successful industrial collaboration.

Welsh universities are also playing a significant role in the collaborative culture of the Welsh bioscience sector, not least because they are generating a steady stream of spin-outs companies such as British Biocell International, Biostatus and Muscagen.

Broadband: connecting Wales to the global network

Broadband Wales is creating a Wales-wide broadband infrastructure and equiping strategic business parks with high-speed broadband connections. The programme is particularly relevant to the software and IT services sector, better equipping it to compete globally.
